Satomo

Local safety context for iPhone. Satomo compares the place around you with average US city crime rates and turns that data into a simple safety score.

For everyday context

A clearer answer when a place feels unfamiliar.

Satomo is an iOS app in development for people who want grounded, local context before they decide where to stay, walk, or spend time.

The app uses public crime data to show violent and property crime rates per 100,000 people, compares them with the US city average, and summarizes the result as a 0-100 safety score.

Data approach

Public data, private by design.

Satomo's MVP data set is built from FBI UCR Return A and Arson data from 2019-2024, processed into a local database bundled with the app.

Location is used to resolve the place around you and provide relevant context. Satomo is designed around minimal data collection and clear opt-in controls.
